Leon Heemskerk (1956) studied econometrics at the KUB and followed the postgraduate training for Register Controller at the Free University of Amsterdam. He started his career at Andersen Consulting (Accenture), where he conducted several projects in the sectors of automotive and banks. In 1988 he became employed at DAF trucks. Here he fulfilled several management roles. After bankruptcy of the organization Leon also stood at the basis of rebuilding the organization. In continuation he has been managing director of an internationally operating family company, a main supplier with settlements in the Czech Republic and Malaysia. After this, he became financial director in the Executive Board of a Security Company.
Since the midst of 2000 Leon has been active as a financial consultant, mainly in the fields of business succession and corporate finance. Leon can be described as a consultant with a strategic orientation, hands-on mentality and broad interests in people and company processes. Leon is allied to SDG as associate since in the midst of 2002.
